Obama believes in continuation of nuclear deal
Even before he was elected the next president of the US, experts were speculating what Donald Trump’s election would mean for the nuclear deal with the Iran. The agreement was made in 2015 between the Iran and the US, the UK, France, Russia, China and Germany and led to the lifting of international sanctions against the Iran. Trump called this agreement ‚terrible‘ and talked about revoking it.
Now US president Barack Obama commented the issue. In his opinion, it’s unlikely that his successor will actually revoke the agreement as it’s „more difficult to undo something that’s working than undo something that isn’t working“. He emphasised that the Iran has complied with the deal in the first year and that the agreement can therefore be called a success.
